Westport floods: 15 per cent of homes uninhabitable
Sixty-five homes in Westport have been red stickered after the weekend's devastating floods, meaning residents can't return home. Just over 300 have been yellow stickered and about 1800 have no or only slight damage. Work is under way to ensure people who cannot go home have somewhere to stay and emergency accommodation options are being looked at. Westport resident Stephen Switalla walked RNZ's Anan Zaki through his house, which was devastated by flood waters. Nathan Rarere spoke with the Mayor of Buller District Jamie Cleine.
