Maritime Union:more needs doing to ensure integrity of borders
New Zealand's Covid-19 procedures for shipping crews are under the spotlight as it's confirmed that a third vessel in our waters is plagued with the virus. Nine crew members on board the container ship Mattina, currently in quarantine in Bluff, have now tested positive for Covid-19. This is on top of crew members from the Viking Bay and Playa Zahara, some of whom were able to board their vessels before their positive results came back. Nathan Rarere asked the national secretary of the Maritime Union, Craig Harrison, whether he thinks more should be done to protect shipping crews and ensure the integrity of our maritime borders.
