David Liti finished 5th in Tokyo, aiming for Paris 2024

Weightlifter David Liti's Olympic debut didn't result in any medals, with the Aucklander finishing fifth in his Super heavyweight division. But he still managed to lift 178 kilograms in the snatch and achieved a personal best by heaving 263 kilos in the clean and jerk. Liti won Gold at the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games back in 2018. However, he says the Olympics proved a huge step up.
