Most NZ paralympians now in Tokyo acclimatising to heat

While a lack of competition may have affected a lot of the athletes at the Tokyo Olympics the issue is even greater for our para-athletes. The majority of the New Zealand team has now arrived in Japan for the start of competition next week. Among those are the eight strong athletics team who have joined up at their training base in Saga. Covid has meant all of them have had to train in New Zealand for the last 18 months. Athletics team manager Scott Goodman, who stayed on after the Olympics, says the big thing they'll work on for the first few days will be getting their athletes acclimatised to the heat.
