Waipareira Trust busy supporting patients isolating at home
An Auckland Maori health provider is being run off its feet due to the number of Covid-19 patients and their contacts who are isolating at home. 50 people a day are currently testing positive at Waipareira Trust's testing station in the West Auckland suburb of Henderson. According to the Ministry of Health's latest update, over 4-thousand people are now isolating at home around Tamaki Makaurau, almost 19-hundred of whom have Covid-19. Waipareira Trust staff who'd been on a vaccination push up North through Te Tai Tokerau have been redeployed to Auckland to help treat and support those isolating at home. Nathan Rarere spoke with the Clinical Manager of Te Whanau o Waipareira, Ngaire Harris, about what they're seeing on New Zealand's Covid front line.
