And we return to our lead story now that the cost of fuel was reduced by 25 cents a litre overnight as the government acts to counter soaring petrol prices arising from Russia's invasion of Ukraine. The price of public transport will also be halved for the next three months in a bid to help people save on their transport costs. We sent our producer Matthew Theunissen around to a few Auckland petrol stations after yesterday's announcement to find out how the news is being receieved by motorists.
