We'll get a good idea of how much the cost of living has actually gone up by later today when the much-anticipated consumer price index for the March quarter is released. It will come as no surprise to listeners, things are getting pretty pricey out there and some commentators believe the CPI will rise by as much as 8 per cent. Nathan Rarere discussed all of this with the Finance Minister and Acting Prime Minister Grant Robertson. But with news this week that as early as November last year health offiicials thought that MIQ was "no longer justified" for most returnees ...he began by asking if, in hindsight, he wished MIQ had been abandoned sooner.
