Independents could hold balance in Oz elections
Australians will go to the polls in two weeks's time and there's increasing interest in the emergence of a new force on the political landscape. The so-called 'teal independents' is a loose grouping of individual candidates who don't belong to a political party, but do share a common interest in wanting more action on climate change and political integrity. They're mostly mid-career, successful, professional women; and they're trying to take seats from government members. Pollsters say many of the teal candidates have a real chance - and one who is in that group is Zoe Daniel. Ms Daniel is a former journalist and foreign correspondent with Australia's national broadcaster, the ABC.
