NZ golfer Steve Alker wins Senior PGA champs in Michigan
New Zealand golfer Steve Alker won the Senior PGA Championship over the weekend in Michigan to become the first New Zealander to win a Senior Major Championship Before his dream run on the over 50's circuit, Alker had carved out a solid if not spectacular career around the globe, but never breaking through on the lucrative PGA Tour. Since qualifying to play on the Champions Tour, the 50 year old Hamiltonian has amassed over 3 million US Dollars in Prize Money, with 4 wins and sixteen top ten finishes from 19 events. Reporter Leonard Powell caught up with Alker, who now bases himself in Arizona, and began by asking him whether he has ever had this much confidence in his game.
