Blood Service: 38,000 new donors urgently required
This week New Zealand Blood Service is running National Blood Donor Week. Nearly 38-thousand new donors are needed across New Zealand in the next 12 months to keep up with the country's increasing demand for blood and plasma. Every year, almost 110-thousand Kiwis donate more than 220-thousand units of blood, plasma and platelets, and help save the lives of 29-thousand people across Aotearoa. Nathan Rarere asked New Zealand Blood Service communications manager Asuka Burge to explain the importance of giving blood.
