900 clinicians pen letter on workforce crisis to Minister
A system under pressure but not a crisis is how Health Minister Andrew Little described the current state of our health system. But an astonishing 93.5 per cent of doctors who participated in a just-released survey responded "definitely, yes" when asked if they feel there is a healthcare workforce crisis in Aotearoa. The New Zealand Women in Medicine survey of 900 clinicians concluded that "we are at risk of a catastrophic collapse of the healthcare workforce". One of them is junior doctor Emma Espiner and she spoke with Nathan Rarere.
