Nurse practitioner starts clinic in rural Wairapapa school

From First Up, 5:35 am on 20 July 2022

A Wairarapa nurse practitioner has started a clinic from a school Principal's office in the little town of Pirinoa. Up until now, residents of Pirinoa and surrounding isolated settlements have had to drive for up to an hour to get medical treatment in Featherston. Concerned that some people weren't getting the care they needed due to the distance and the spiralling cost of petrol, Corina Ngatai decided something needed to be done. So she approached the local school, which agreed to help ... and now the whole community is on board. Nathan Rarere asked Corina why this clinic is so important.
