NZ needs to prep for other infectious diseases in coming months
Latest figures show there are at least five-and-a-half-thousand new community cases of COVID 19 in the country There's currently a rolling average of eight-and-a-half thousand cases and 24 deaths per week. But Auckland University vaccinologist Dr Helen Petousis-Harris says while these figures are grim, covid is not the only disease we need to be thinking about and New Zealanders should be prepared for an onsalught of more infectious diseases in the coming months.
