NZ joins WHO's inaugural World Drowning Prevention Day

From First Up, 5:14 am on 25 July 2022

There has been a sharp rise in the number of drownings since the emergence of Covid-19 ... here and around the world. There are an average of 77 fatal drownings in Aotearoa every year, which is why groups like Drowning Prevention Auckland have joined the World Health Organisation in calling for YOU to get behind World Drowning Prevention Day. That day, ladies and gentlemen, is today -- the 25th of July. Joining Nathan Rarere is the chief executive of Drowning Prevention Auckland, Nicola Keen-Biggelaar.
