4RBBY the godwit's interesting, unusual travel patterns

Now, to the story of an adventurous little bird who always come home, but only after taking a few unexpected detours. Young 4RBBY is a godwit and usually you'd find them flying back from Alaska at this time of the year. But this little bird has returned to New Zealand after spending five months in West Papua. And this isn't the only time it's taken the scenic route. Nick Truebridge spoke to Massey University Associate Professor Phil Battley who's been looking at 4RBBY's travel patterns.
