A leading scientist is warning that if a new dangerous Covid variant turns up, by the time it's detected it could well already be too late. It's one of the concerns resulting from the shortage of scientists and lab technicians behind the sequencing of Covid-19 samples ... not to mention the diagnosis of things like cancer. Terry Taylor is president of the New Zealand Institute of Medical Laboratory Science and spoke with Nathan Rarere.
