AUT nursing students continue to complain about their treatment, particularly on student placements with one describing being spat on, kicked and treated like 'an extra pair of hands'. It comes after more than 30 nursing students told Checkpoint last week they'd been taken advantage of. They said they had been put under immense stress juggling 40 hour a week unpaid hospital placements alongside full time study with no compensation for uniforms, petrol or hospital parking. AUT maintains it takes the mental health of its students seriously, but as Leonard Powell reports, that hasn't stopped more students coming forward.
