Robbery victim Janak Patel farewelled by hundreds yesterday

The shopkeeper killed in an alleged robbery in Auckland's Sandringham was farewelled yesterday at a packed ceremony charged with sadness and anger. Janak Patel was fatally stabbed when he confronted an alleged robber outside Rose Cottage Superette on Wednesday night. Three people have now been arrested in connection with the killing, including a 34 year old man charged with aggravated robbery and murder.
