National welcomes Royal Commission of Inquiry into Covid

A Royal Commission of Inquiry -- the highest-level inquiry available to the government -- will examine how New Zealand responded during to the Covid-19 pandemic. It will be chaired by Australian-based epidemiologist Tony Blakely, former Cabinet minister Hekia Parata, and former Treasury Secretary John Whitehead. The inquiry was announced yesterday by the Prime Minister, Jacinda Ardern and will start considering evidence from the 1st of February next year, concluding in Mid 2024 Nathan Rarere asked the National Party's deputy leader, Nicola Willis, if she's satisfied with the terms of the inquiry.
