New PM: what do AK people think of new appointments
Incoming Prime Minister Chris Hipkins and new deputy PM Carmel Sepuloni are promising to rein in some government programs that are less "essential". After the Labour Party voted unanimously on Friday for him to become party leader and prime minister, Mr Hipkins confirmed yesterday that Ms Sepuloni will be the new deputy prime minister. Ms Sepuloni is the the MP for Kelston in West Auckland and is the first deputy prime minister of Pasifika descent. We wanted to find out what people make of the new leaders of our country, so reporter Leonard Powell hit the streets of Auckland to find out. He started asking people if they'd be voting for Chris Hipkins come October.
