What food can you rescue from flooded fridges/freezers?

Thousands of people in the North Island are still waiting for power to be restored. Authorities say reinforcements are on the way, but essential supplies are dwindling. Many of those stranded would have had to resort to leftover food in their fridges and freezers. But with no electricity for hours, and even days in some cases, those items would have thawed So how do you know what food is safe to consume? We asked microbiologist and food safety blogger Dr John Brooks
