Sepuloni: Stuart Nash had to go as Police Minister
The opposition is demanding Staurt Nash be relieved of his remaining roles after he resigned as police minister on Wednesday. Mr Nash admitted calling the police commissioner in 2021 asking to appeal a judge's decision that he was critical of. According to the Cabinet Manual, government ministers cannot criticise the judiciary and must remain independent of police prosecutorial decisions. Nathan Rarere asked Deputy Prime Minister Carmel Sepuloni to explain why Stuart Nash had to go, and whether he will be resigning from his other roles.
