ACT: supports Posie Parker right to speak in NZ

From First Up, 5:47 am on 24 March 2023

The National Party wants primary and intermediate school students to spend an hour every day each on reading, writing and maths. Party leader Christopher Luxon wants to set a target of 80 percent of students at or above the expected curriculum level for their age by 2030, with New Zealand top 10 in the world on PISA rankings for maths, reading and science by 2033. National also wants to rewrite the curriculum to clearly state what must be taught in these areas each year - and test students twice-yearly from Year 3. Joining Nathan Rarere is Brooke van Velden who's deputy leader of National's would-be coalition partner, Act.
