Principal says action on class size is promising
The government has announced plans to reduce class sizes for primary and intermediate school students The $106 million initiative will see classes in years 4 to 8 shift from 29 students per teacher to 28 by 2025. A ministerial Advisory Group will also be set up to look at class sizes over the longer term. Nathan Rarere spoke with principal of Western Heights Primary School Ash Maindonald, and asked how his school will benefit from going to 29 to 28 students per class.
