National Canoe Sprint Champs take place at Lake Karapiro

Two of the best paddlers in the world will go head-to-head this weekend at the National Canoe Sprint Championships, both hoping to secure the prestigious K1 500 spot at this year's World Championships Five time Olympic and 12-time world champion Lisa Carrington will lineup against Aimee Fisher on Lake Karapiro in a best of three selection trial for the world championship spot Whoever wins will be favourite for the world title later this year..... Carrington has won the K1 500 world title three times and Fisher once Canoe Racing New Zealand General Manager of Performance Nathan Luce expects the competition to be intense once again.
