Budget: should politicians be stingy or spendy?

Free childcare for 2 year olds, scrapping co-payments for prescriptions and free public transport for under 13's.. Yesterday's budget contained a number of measures to tackle the soaring costs in our lives Labour called it no-frills - National and Act called it an overspend - a budget blowout. First though we took a measure of Aucklanders feelings about Government spending levels. Should politicians be stingy or spendy with our money.
