This morning's tsunami warnings saw thousands of residents in Northland, Bay of Plenty and the East Coast evacuated from their homes, schools and places of work to get to higher ground and wait for the large waves to pass. Karyn speaks with Kiri Henry who is the prinicpal of Kura o Te Teko Kia Manawanui in Whakatane about her day today.

This morning's earthquakes off the North Island's East Coast should serve as a wake up call for pre-schools and schools.Workplace wellbeing expert, Sarah McGuinness is calling on government agencies to proactively check schools and their boards have well planned emergency evacuation plans.

10.30 Public raises alarm about online threats to the Muslim community
The minister responsible for the country's spy agencies says they can't constantly monitor the internet to identify terror threats, and instead rely on the public to raise the alarm. A 27-year-old man has been charged with threatening to kill worshippers at Linwood Islamic Centre and Al Noor Mosque in Christchurch. Security officials first became aware of the threat after they were alerted to it by a member of the public. Karyn speaks with Anjum Rahman from the Islamic Women's Council of New Zealand.
