10:20 Bluff oyster industry on tenterhooks again

The deadly parasite Bonamia ostreae has been found in three wild oysters in Foveaux Strait. The parasite was first found in New Zealand in the Marlborough Sounds six years ago and then again in 2017 from Oysters in Big Glory Bay on Stewart Island. It's the middle of the oyster season and no one got much work done today as the industry met to talk about what needs to be done. Willie Calder is a fourth generation Bluff oyster fisherman.
