10:17 Northland native Ray Woolf concerned over regions vaccine hesitancy

Nearly 17,000 people in Northland still haven't had their first vaccine as the region currently has the second lowest rate with only 65% of the population double vaccinated. Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern spent the day in towns across Te Tai Tokerau, trying to boost the region's lacklustre approach to the vaccination campaign. Karyn speaks to veteran entertainer Ray Woolf; who lives in the Northland district, about where the resistance is, how to speak to the vaccine hesitant and whether he believes they can reach the government's 90% vaccine target.

10:25 Mission by air to boost Ngāti Porou vaccinations

A mission to get Ngāti Porou vaccinated in remote communities on the East Cape is gathering pace. A couple of long-time mates have hatched an ambitious plan to fly 10 light aircraft to Ruatoria, Te Araroa and Tolaga Bay on the 13th of November. Each of the aircraft will carry a vaccination team and will be named after significant tipuna who served with the C-Company in the Māori Battalion. They are hoping communities will come out to the aerodromes to reconnect with their tipuna as the planes come in to land and get vaccinated at the same time. One of the pilots is orthopaedic surgeon, Dr Chris Hoffman. He speaks will Karyn about the significance of his initiative.
