10:18 Chlöe Swarbrick's concerns for rental sector

1.5 million New Zealander's are renting and pay a higher percentage of their income on housing than property owners do. Last night we heard from the Privacy Commissioner who has launched a tip line for people to report landlords who aren't acting within guidelines with respect to their tenants privacy. Green party MP Chlöe Swarbrick is worried about much more than privacy for renters and she joins Karyn to explain what those concerns are.

10:30 The secret to aging gracefully

Many of us fear getting old but our guest tonight says we should be pleased we are ageing day by day and that growing older is a privilege. Dr Kirsten Holst is a geriatrician in Palmerston North, and although she agrees our early twenties are the pinnacle of our bodies functionality, she strongly believes older people can have an excellent quality of life if they approach it in the right way.

10:40 Authors protest National Library book disposal in Wellington

We recently reported the National Library had entered into a contract with an American company Internet Archive who will digitise two thirds of the 600,000 books the National Library plan to dispose of. Earlier this evening in Wellington at St Peter's Church in Willis Street, a group of authors and like-minded people banded together to form Book Guardians Aotearoa and protested the Library's actions. The group includes Professor Dolores Janiewski; a specialist in American History, poet and musician Bill Direen who organised the protest and poet and university lecturer Harry Ricketts.
