10:18 Congestion Charging will Benefit Weathly Motorists
London did it 20 years ago and now Auckland motorists are faced with the likelihood of being charged to drive on inner-city roads as soon as 2025. The government is expected to make an announcement next week on congestion charges for the CBD in a bid to tackle vehicle emissions and to take some traffic off Auckland's choked roads. Karyn is joined by Clive Matthew Wilson, of the Dog and Lemon Guide, is a longtime commentor and campaigner on car and transport issues who thinks congestion charges are unfair.

A 114 million dollar funding boost over four years has been announced today to help combat the scourge that is domestic violence, family violence, and abuse. New Zealand is in the unenviable position of having one of the highest rates in the O.E.C.D. But more support is on the way - and one of the groups hoping some of that financial assistance comes their way is Shakti New Zealand, a national not-for-profit organisation and refuge which specialises in working with our ethnic communities - helping the women, children and families of Asian, African and MIddle Eastern origin and others. Shakti's Margy Ageled joins us to tell us more.
