The whole of Southland is now in a state of emergency because of extensive flooding after two days of heavy rain.
With more water on the way, there's the chance of a one-in-one-hundred-year event when rivers surge tomorrow, and a 50-percent chance the Mataura River could rise to levels not seen since 1984.
