Is policing in New Zealand racist?
The Minister of Police has said there's unconscious bias but no systemic racism in the New Zealand police. But the head of the Criminal Justice Advisory Group, Chester Borrows, says there are serious problems with the way Maori and Pasifika people are treated by police and new government legislation could make matters worse. Former police officer and detective Tim McKinnel speaks with Karyn about his work as an investigator specialising in human rights and wrongful conviction cases.
