This week marks the anniversary of the 1892 publication of The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, the first collection of stories featuring Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's fictional detective - who would end up featuring in several novels and dozens more short stories. Eventually Conan Doyle grew tired of writing about Sherlock, and turned his full attention to spiritualism.
This fascination with the supernatural brought him to New Zealand in 1920 - where he met a special terrier named 'Darkie' who he believed had mystical powers. Wendy Riley from Lost Christchurch joins the show to share the story.
