Theft of ebikes is becoming a really serious problem in Auckland and Wellington - the latest tale came out today of a woman who actually stole her bike back off someone who met her with it in central Wellington - having put it up for sale on TradeMe.
According to the report, the woman had the police on the phone when she met the people who were selling the bike and told them she wanted to take the bike for a test ride before she was prepared to pay for it. Amadeus, who helps run the Wellington Stolen Bicycles Facebook page, talks to Karyn about what cyclists can do to increase their chances of getting stolen bikes back.
