Under a new policy proposed today by Finance Minister Grant Robertson, workers who lose their job could be paid up to 80 percent of their wage for up to seven months. The scheme would be managed by ACC and paid for by levies, with workers and employers paying an additional 1.39 percent each. The Child Poverty Action Group has spoken out against the scheme stating it would likely 'bake-in' existing inequities and drive inequality.
