New Zealand's electoral laws are under the microscope including the voting age, the parliamentary term and the 5% party vote threshold. Issues that are widely discussed issues before, during and dureclty after elections, but often get forgotten at other times. Today Justice Minister Kris Faafoi announced the names of those who will be leading an independent review of electoral laws to "better support people to exercise their democratic right to vote". Chairing the panel will be lawyer Deborah Hart who is currently chair of the Consumer Advocacy Council and the Holocaust Centre of New Zealand.
