A group of New Zealand musicians have formed a band in honour of the American singer-songwriter whose songs have shaped their music. To form The Bill Withers Social Club made up of singers Dallas Tamaira (Fat Freddy’s Drop), Rio Hemopo (TrinityRoots), Troy Kingi & L.A Mitchell (Terrible Sons, Fly My Pretties), alongside band members Iraia Whakamoe & Ryan Prebble (The Nudge, Fly My Pretties), Adán Tijerina (The Yoots, AHoriBuzz) & Daniel Hayles (Lord Echo, Hollie Smith), promising to play songs from Bill Withers’ mighty back catalogue.
