Te Kaahu is one of two projects by Em-Haley Walker (Waikato-Tainui, Ngāti Tīpa). In this project, the artist shares stories about the new music she is releasing this year, highlighting how it honours her whakapapa and the tradition of Māori songwriting.
She caught up with Tony and Maggie over Zoom from a studio where she’s recording her debut Theia album, to talk everything from the inspiration for her Te Kaahu projects, her time at Massey University, singing in Te Reo and her latest Theia single ‘BALDH3AD’.
