Robin Hapi has spent decades at the helm of Maori business and governance. His achievements include 12 years as chief executive of the Treaty of Waitangi Fisheries Commission, board membership at Sealords, and he's currently chair of Te Wananga o Raukawa. Robin Hapi reflects on the path that led to him winning the Dame Mira Szászy lifetime award at the Māori Business Leader Awards this week.
Steve Saunders: 'Culture eats strategy any day of the week'
Steve Saunders won Outstanding Māori Business Leader. He left school aged 17 and his first job was sweeping floors and potting plant for just over three dollars an hour. He says in a fast-changing business environment 'culture eats strategy any day of the week' and says wellbeing and a sense of belonging in the workplace are more important than ever.
