Champion of Kura Kaupapa & Te Reo Maori, Cathy Dewes 

Since the 1970s Cathy Dewes has been a leading advocate of Te Reo Maori and one of the founding members of the Kura Kaupapa Maori schools movement that emerged in the 1980s. This week she again appeared in front of the Waitangi Tribunal to discuss the future of Kura Kaupapa.
