Professor Leonie Pihama, along with Linda Tuhiwai Smith, have co-edited a new book about indigenous knowledge and its uses for health and wellbeing. It draws on voices in Aotearoa and across North America and how centuries-old traditions around the land, environment, whakapapa and kai gathering still have a crucial role to play.

'Maorioke' in Wellington to support Maori wardens

Maori wardens have been with us since 1860 and this weekend their mahi is being recognized at a public sing-along, or 'Maorioke' in central Wellington. Artist Suzanne Tamaki is a Maori warden and explains why their work continues to be so vital.
