Forensic investigators are at the scene of a police shooting in south Auckland, where a man with a machete was shot dead in Central Avenue, Papatoetoe.
Police say they received multiple calls after one o'clock this morning about a man on the street damaging cars, smashing windows and chopping at power lines.
