The country's largest aviation union is taking legal action against the Airways Corporation in a bid to stop it from closing seven traffic control towers at a cost of 180 jobs.
Last month, Airways announced it was reviewing services at Hawke's Bay, Gisborne, New Plymouth, Rotorua, Invercargill and Kāpiti airports as well as Milford Sound Piopiotahi Aerodrome.
Now the Air Line Pilots Association, which also represents air traffic controllers, is going to the Employment Relations Authority.
Joining us is the Association's president, Captain Andrew Ridling.
