Aucklanders aren't yet meeting the water saving targets set by the council, almost a week after water restrictions were announced in response to the region's severe drought.
Outdoor water use is banned, householders cannot use garden hoses and water blasters, while commercial car washes must use recycled water.
Watercare has called for the city to limit its water use to an average of 420-million litres a day, but the city has yet to get below 426-million litres.
However, Watercare's chief executive, Raveen Jaduram told Māni Dunlop it's encouraging that the city's water use is dropping.
