A prominent South Auckland councillor says his community is yet to be asked for their feedback on the police Armed Response Teams, which were trialled for six months in Counties Manukau, Waikato and Canterbury.
The trials ended a month ago, and documents show the police knew the trial was flawed from the beginning.
An evaluation into the trial is underway, and the police commissioner, Andrew Coster, says communities will be asked for their response.
The Manukau ward councillor, Efeso Collins, spoke with Māni Dunlop.
