Māori health providers prepare to expand services
Thousands are set to benefit from a collective of Māori health providers rolling out an indigenous approach to mental health and addictions services.
There have been consistent calls for increased resourcing for Māori health providers to provide a different approach to mental health services.
The government recently announced a three year contract to a collective of Māori providers in the Tainui waka region, where a week long wānanga training 47 kaimahi is underway.
