The first Assistant Māori Commissioner for Children has been appointed.

Glenis Philip-Barbara, no Ngāti Porou me Ngati Uepōhatu, says the role acknowledges Te Tiriti in practice and is committed to shining a light on how the system is and isn't working for tamariki.
She comes with 30 years of experience in the public and community sectors with roles including the chief executive of Te Taura Whiri.
