Covid-19 testing ramps up at Port Taranaki following infection

From Midday Report, 12:17 pm on 19 October 2020

Three Port Taranaki staff are isolating at home after coming into contact with an electrical engineer who tested positive for Covid-19.

The man, from Auckland, wore PPE when he worked on two different ships last week, but the Director-General of Health, Dr Ashley Bloomfield, says the first of those ships is the most likely place of infection.

Māni Dunlop spoke to the Taranaki District Health Board's incident management team controller, Becky Jenkins.
