The Government isn't ruling out lifting the minimum wage to the level of the living wage, which currently stands at $22.10.

A new report from the Helen Clark Foundation and the Institute of Economic Research says the increase would boost productivity and create a more inclusive economy.

Labour has committed to making the minimum wage $20 an hour next year, with the Workplace Relations Minister, Michael Wood, saying he wouldn't count out matching the living wage.

The chief executive of Business New Zealand, Kirk Hope, spoke to Māni Dunlop.
